Michael Tamblyn
President & CEO
Michael is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Rakuten Kobo. Driving growth, profitability and international expansion in a fiercely competitive market, he combines a passion for reading with a deep focus on the hardware and software experiences that can make a customer’s reading life better. A passionate and engaging presenter and commentator, Michael speaks internationally on digital media, publishing and mobile technology and has been featured in the New Yorker, Wired, Canadian Business, National Post, Globe and Mail and the New York Times.
Michael faz parte da equipa executiva da Rakuten Kobo desde a sua entrada em 2009, tendo anteriormente assumido a função de Diretor de Conteúdos. Antes de se juntar à Kobo, Michael foi Diretor Executivo (CEO) fundador da agência da cadeia logística BookNet Canada, onde foi cofundador da primeira livraria online do Canadá, a Bookshelf.ca, comprada pela Indigo Books & Music em 1998 para criar a Indigo.ca, onde teve a função de VP de Operações Online.
Michael possui um Mestrado em Administração de Empresas pela Universidade de Western Ontario.
Anna Giagkou
Diretor Financeiro
Anna Giagkou is the Chief Financial Officer at Rakuten Kobo, responsible for the company’s financial management and accountability, as well as guiding future growth. In her role overseeing the finance team, Anna oversees the financial strategy, performance, and growth across all business pillars.
Prior to joining Rakuten Kobo, Anna was the Chief Financial Officer at Cox Automotive Canada, where she was responsible for the development of financial strategies, supporting optimization of operations, managing and reporting finances and driving results across all lines of business. Anna holds a CPA, CMA designation and serves on a number of boards, including Senior Persons Living Connected (SPLC).
Trevor Hunter
CTO
Trevor é Diretor Executivo de Tecnologia na Rakuten Kobo, sendo responsável pela tecnologia inovadora por trás de todas as facetas do serviço de eReading de mais alto nível da Kobo. Dirige as práticas de engenharia que mantêm a qualidade e a inovação ao mais alto nível, mantendo sempre o foco principal naquilo que os clientes pretendem e precisam num ecossistema de leitura digital. Anteriormente, Trevor desempenhou a função de Enterprise Architect na Rakuten Kobo, onde concebeu estratégias passíveis de pôr em prática que suportassem os objetivos empresariais da empresa, recorrendo às melhores práticas e, em simultâneo, garantindo o desenvolvimento e a fiabilidade operacional em arquiteturas à escala da Internet.
Antes de se juntar à Rakuten Kobo, Trevor desempenhou diversas funções na Infusion, onde desenvolveu a sua experiência como conselheiro fidedigno trabalhando em diversos setores, incluindo retalho, viagens e hotelaria e serviços financeiros.
Trevor é formado em Informática pela University of Ulster.
Marianne Hamilton
CMO
Marianne Hamilton is the Chief Marketing Officer of Rakuten Kobo. Responsible for the entire customer journey, from acquisition and retention to ebook, audiobook and eReader sales, she applies an integrated marketing discipline to deliver brand and business growth. Marianne is a dynamic leader and strong collaborator who motivates diverse teams toward improving reading lives, based on our core belief that life is better with books.
A communications professional with a certificate in media and advertising, Marianne worked agency-side doing public relations, social media and product marketing for several Fortune 500 companies. She also led Canada's marketing organization for Motorola during the advent of Android smartphones. Marianne joined Rakuten Kobo in 2012 to increase the company's marketing and sales impact through its global network of retail partners.
Jay Howard
General Counsel
As General Counsel for Rakuten Kobo, Jay develops and implements the company’s legal strategies. Along with his team, he provides guidance on global legal issues, identifies emerging trends, and ensures compliance with laws and regulation while managing risk and protecting the company’s interests. Jay offers legal and business expertise and support in decision-making processes, and he has deep familiarity with complex legal and industry matters.
Prior to joining Rakuten Kobo, Jay led legal functions at media and technology companies with both national and international presence. He holds LL.B. and B.C.L. legal degrees and various legal designations from industry groups.
